I start with simple things. We use coversheets to protect files on desks and we keep these confidential files out of the reach and sight of clients and visitors. We are careful about computer screens and possible viewing by visitors and clients.
We shred all trash with a client's  name or about a client. We have a shredder for each employee in the office.
No "wireless" networks are used in my office. We use secure cables for network transmission of data. Our computer server includes a Linux operating system.
I never discuss a client's case on a cordless or cellular phone. Our phones have telephone "cable-lines" for client confidentiality. My voicemail and fax are not subcontracted, but are within my office - on my computer.

In addition to these kinds of security software packages, we use more sophisticated firewalls with our DSL connection
My computer data backup includes multiple layers of storage - all within my personal control.
My office and building are protected by high security Abloy keys that cannot be picked nor duplicated except by franchised and licensed locksmiths. Our custodian service is bonded, has security credentials to operate in federal offices, and retains the same personnel year-after-year.
My background in military intelligence with some knowledge of electronics (I hold amateur radio license K4QXK) and locks gives me a special appreciation for your privacy and security.
