![]() Church of Saints Peter and Paul where all Tsars are buried. On July 17, 1998, Tsar Nicholas the Second, his wife and three children were buried within the Church in a historical ceremony attended by President Boris Yeltsin. The Russian Orthodox Church clergy downplayed the event because of distrust of testing used in identification. Recent events within Russia allowed the discovery of the Tsar's remains and those of his family where they were secretly murdered in the Ural Mountains on July 17, 1918.
